I downloaded the software and installed it and was then able to scan using Apple Image Capture. I tried to to use Apple Image Capture but received the message that I didn't have the appropriate Apple scanning software for my printer. Note that the printer/scanner was originally set up for the iMac, and the MacBook is a new addition. I am able to print from both my iMac and my MacBook. I have not made any changes to my printer.
